Transport Information

Located just outside the arrivals, the CAT is the easiest and fastest choice for a comfortable journey to and from Vienna Airport, with a travel time of just 16 minutes. It runs daily every 30 minutes and you can purchase tickets from the CAT counter located inside the arrivals hall, at the station or online Home | City Airport Train

Taxis are located directly in front of the arrivals hall or the City Transfer counters in the arrivals hall. Travel time will vary between 20 and 30 minutes depending on traffic. 

Getting around the City

Vienna, Austria has a well-developed public transportation system that's one of the most efficient in the world. You can get around the city using: 

  • Subway (U-Bahn): The backbone of the system, with five lines that crisscross the city 
  • Tram (Strassenbahn): Vienna's iconic trams are a scenic way to explore the city, with over 30 lines 
  • Bus: Complements the trams and U-Bahn, providing coverage in areas where other public transportation options are limited 
  • Commuter train (S-Bahn): Connects Vienna with its suburbs and neighboring regions 
  • City Airport Train (CAT): The fastest non-stop connection from the airport to Vienna city center, with a travel time of only 16 minutes
