Stefan Nanu joined the Ministry of Finance of Romania in 1998 and has since been actively involved in the public debt management. Currently, he is the general director of Treasury and Public Debt, Ministry of Finance of Romania and in this position coordinates the entire public debt management process across front, middle and back-office functions. His main coverage is related to sovereign borrowings from external and domestic markets, issuance of sovereign guarantees, sovereign risk management, servicing the government debt, debt management strategy, cash management and the management of the treasury single account. Stefan Nanu received his BA and MA in economics from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Science. Stefan was also recently appointed as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the newly created Investment and Development Bank in Romania.
