Sandra Švaljek, PhD, Deputy Governor of the Croatian National Bank since 2018, in charge of the Central Banking Operations Area, the Internal Audit Office, the Communications Area, the Office of the Governor, the Financial Risk Management Office, the Visitors' Centre and Moneterra – Money Museum of the Croatian National Bank. Since 1 January 2023, Sandra Švaljek has been an alternate to member of the ECB’s Governing Council Boris Vujčić. Ms Svaljek is also active in different national and international working groups and fora dealing with the role of central banks and financial institutions in tackling climate change. In the period between 2000 and 2013, Ms Švaljek was a member of the Croatian National Bank Council. She was Director of the Institute of Economics, Zagreb and President of the Board of Trustees of the International Graduate Business School (IGBS), Zagreb from 2005 to 2013. She worked at the Institute of Economics, Zagreb from 1992 to 2018, where she became a senior research fellow. Ms Svaljek has authored and co-authored a number of scientific and expert papers and has taught at a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She graduated in 1992 from the Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb, where she also earned a master's degree in 1995 and a doctor's degree in fiscal policy in
