Kristofor Pavlov

Chief Economist, UniCredit Bulbank

Kristofor Pavlov is a chief economist and head of the macroeconomic and market research team at UniCredit Bulbank, Bulgaria. Kristofor Pavlov leads the production and presentation of UniCredit Bulbank’s macroeconomic views on Bulgaria. He also works on issues related to the analysis and forecasting of the financial sector and housing market in Bulgaria. Before shifting his career to economics, Kristofor Pavlov worked as a banker. He started at the Bulgarian National Bank, where he worked in the Banking Supervision Department. He took on middle management positions in two commercial banks, before he was appointed member of the MB of DSK Bank in 1997, where he served for four years. Kristofor Pavlov has a masters degree in accounting and controlling from the University of National and Global economy in Sofia. In addition, he has a masters degree in economic policy and management from the Strathclyde University in Glasgow, where he graduated with distinction. His research interests are primarily in growth and development economics, economics of the finance sector and housing markets.
