Katarzyna Kurkowska-Szczechowicz

Katarzyna Kurkowska-Szczechowicz has been involved in the financial market for 24 years. Since 2012, she has worked at PKO Bank Polski, where she served as Director of the Risk Centre and then Director of the Internal Audit Department. She has participated in numerous projects, including the creation of PKO Bank Hipoteczny and a project aimed at developing an audit model based on continuous risk assessment methodology and control mechanisms using statistical methods and artificial intelligence. She was responsible for implementing new processes, including solutions using statistical methods and robotics. She has many years of managerial experience. She has held numerous management positions in financial market institutions, including as Director of Risk Departments. As a manager at E&Y, she implemented projects for entities from the financial sector. She is a long-standing member of Risk Committees. She was also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Credit Information Bureau. She
has completed a number of training courses both in Poland and abroad. She holds a masters degree in economics from the Warsaw School of Economics in finance and banking and a masters degree in law from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. She is a graduate of the Executive MBA Programme at Aalto University.
