Johannes Pockrandt is a Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs for Europe and the UK at Citi. He is a member of the Europe Leadership Team. Based in Paris, Johannes drives Citi’s engagement with political stakeholders and institutions across 43 countries. He also manages the firm’s memberships in industry and trade associations and represents Citi in various external fora.

Johannes joined Citi from Deutsche Bank where he held a variety of senior regulatory, chief of staff and regional management roles from 2013 to 2021 – lastly that of Global Co-Head of Government & Regulatory Advocacy. Previously, he served as legislative aide and advisor on economic and foreign policy to members of the European Parliament and the German Federal Parliament.

Johannes holds M.A. degrees in economics from the University of Cambridge (St John’s College) and international relations from Freie Universität Berlin. He is an alumnus of several leadership programs and of the European Commission’s Blue Book traineeship.
