István Szászi

CEO, Bosch Hungary and Adriatic region
Dr. István Szászi serves as the Bosch Group's Representative for Hungary and the Adriatic region, as well as the Head of the Central and Eastern European Engineering Cluster. He is also the General Manager of Robert Bosch Kft.

He began his academic journey at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), where he graduated and later became an assistant professor, eventually rising to the position of adjunct professor. In 2004, he transitioned to the corporate world, joining Bosch Group in Hungary as a project engineer. On 1st July 2021, Dr. István Szászi assumed his current role as Bosch Group's Representative for Hungary and the Adriatic region. In this capacity, he leads over 23,000 employees across the region, including engineers in Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.

He is a respected member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering and serves as an Honorary Associate Professor at BME. Since 25th March 2022, he has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rudolf Kálmán Foundation for Óbuda University. As of 1st January 2024, he holds a position as a research professor at Széchenyi István University.

The knowledge and experience he gained during his academic career continue to serve as a vital source of inspiration. Today, as a business leader, his strategic goal is to foster closer collaboration between academia and industry, strengthening Hungary's innovation capabilities. In December 2023, his contributions were recognized with the prestigious Gábor Dénes Prize. As a company leader, he places a strong emphasis on collaboration with higher education institutions, supporting the development of high-quality engineering education in Hungary, and viewing Hungarian universities as key partners in joint research and development.
