Claer Barrett
Claer Barrett is the consumer editor for the Financial Times. She writes the weekly Serious Money column and presents the FT's Money Clinic podcast.
As a personal finance expert, her mission is to help everyone make the most of their money. Claer frequently appears as a commentator on TV and radio, talking about money, consumer and business issues. She also makes social media video content for the FT on TikTok and Instagram, and is a trustee of the FT-backed charity FLIC (the Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign).
Since joining the FT in 2008, Claer has reported on sectors including retail, property, banking and fintech. Her first book, What They Don’t Teach You About Money, was published by Penguin Books in 2024.
