On 4 December 2025, Ms. Adela Xhemali assumed her mandate as a member of the board of the Financial Supervisory Authority, where she will serve as Chief Executive Director.

Adela Xhemali was the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy during February 2020 - March 2025.

She has previously served as Director of the National Development Projects Unit, Director of the Financial Programming and Foreign Aid at the Prime Minister's Office; General Director of the Treasury and Public Debt Management Department.

During 2020-2025 she was a representative of the Republic of Albania in the role of governor, deputy governor or member of administrative councils at several international fianancial institutions and Multilateral Development Banks, such as IMF, WB group institutions, MIGA, EBRD, CEB, ISBD etc.

She held the position of board member or chair of board at various Albanian institutions, such as the Deposit Insurance Agency, Albanian Development Fund, Albanian Investment Corporatio etc.

Her experience in the private sector was focused on the banking industry, where she held managerial positions, such as CFO and Vice President of the American Bank of Albania and Intesa Sanpaolo Bank for 13 years.

She holds a Master of Science in Finance/ Banking from the University of Tirana and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool.
